Popular culture has become a key space for the clash between identification and meaning, in which cultural products are not simply recycled but reinvented and re-consumed in an increasingly globalized system, in which “the image” is of paramount importance (Bourdieu, P . & Nice, R. 1987).

Is Cinderella a humble girl assigned to the house and the hearth? No. She is a modern girl, enterprising and spoiled or rather vicious, consumed by “consumerism” and by appearance. The director of our story is the mother.
She becomes the authentic plot-maker of our story, she who decides and keeps the thread of the story by directing her daughter to the set goal.
Our fairy tale uses metaphors, changes the games, reverses the characters but maintains the moral and the teachings of the original story: love, equality, grace, spirit, courage, modesty, nobility of blood, common sense and … .. luck?

…. I invaded them, I crossed them, I violated them, I dislocated them, I turned them over, I disemboweled them, I fought them, I loved them. I broke into them, I cut them and in some cases I continued them bringing them to a climax that seemed to me to have inside of them ….. (A. Moresco)
